One of our favorite things here at BA is finding opportunities to give back to the communities around us, so we were thrilled when Survey Crew Chief Josh Sprague approached us earlier this year with just such an opportunity. Josh is very involved as a leader in his son’s Cub Scout pack and told us that the pack needed a disc sander and a bandsaw to help the Scouts get their cars ready for the Derby this year. Ballentine Associates was happy to step in and donate the cost of these items! The Pinewood Derby is a lot of fun for the Scouts and teaches them about craftsmanship and competition.
Here is what Josh said about the Derby: “On Saturday, February 8, Cub Scout Pack 438 held our annual Pinewood Derby. We saw a lot of creative expression and craftsmanship in the cars this year, and most of all we had FUN! Thank you again for the generous donation of a band saw and bench-top sander, they were invaluable in making this happen and will be for years to come. The Pack recognized Ballentine Associates as a sponsor during the event and wishes to communicate its thanks as well.”
