IFC FoodFirst is the result of many years of careful planning. It consolidates IFC’s services into a new, state-of-the art building to maximize support of the community’s most food insecure citizens.

- 16,000 sf facility on 0.3 acre site
- Community kitchen capable of serving more than 1,000 meals per month
- Community space featuring member-led advocacy, need-based programming and training opportunities
- Member-choice pantry with fresh, healthy food. Pantry serves as distribution hub for excess donations
- Financial assistance and IFC administrative offices
- 21 parking spaces under building
Services provided:
- Created boundary and topographic surveys, easement platting
- Assisted rezoning & entitlements through the Town of Carrboro
- Performed site civil engineering
- Urban setting with zero lot lines and old infrastructure
- Single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and condo units
- Innovative storm drainage management due to very little existing drainage piping in the area
- Difficult utility connections due to congested existed utilities within street
- Careful coordination required with architect and structural engineer
- Performed construction administration and closeout/certifications
