Project overview:

  • When completed it was the second largest of solar farm in North Carolina
  • 65 MW AC fixed-tilt ground mounted system with approximately 850,000 solar panels on ±550 acres
  • Produces enough clean energy to power approximately 13,000 homes annually
  • Construction took approximately 9 months

Services provided:

  • Created construction drawings:
    • Prepared detailed construction drawings detailing access, drainage and soil erosion control
    • Prepared a phase 1 Construction Drawing package to expedite the construction of the substation
    • 7 different temporary construction and permanent driveway entrances
    • Jurisdictional impact designs for 4 stream crossings, 8 tributary crossings and 2 wetland crossings
  • Conducted permitting:
    • 2 separate Land Disturbance Permits (phased), NC DEMLR, Environmental Quality
    • 7 driveway permits (5 different land owners), NCDOT
    • 2 Encroachment Permits for underground utility crossings
