Services provided:
- Conducted surveying and civil engineering for a 3.4-acre luxury apartment complex within the 100-year Booker Creek floodplain, including:
- 272-unit apartment building with 360 parking spaces
- Permanent and temporary bicycle storage
- Multi-purpose path for greenway tie-in
- Booker Creek floodplain analysis and floodway no-rise certification
- Multiple stormwater management facilities:
- 6,750 sf of PICP permeable pavement
- 15,000 cf of underground detention, bottom portion of the detention is reserved for the Water Quality Volume and 2-Yr Delta Volume
- The Water Quality Volume stored in the UD is treated with a Storm Filter
- 600 lf of water main extension
- Coordinated retaining wall design in close proximity to floodway, building footings, and precast stormwater structures
- Prepared design and obtained approvals through the following agencies:
- Town of Chapel Hill for site review, stormwater, floodplain and Jordan Lake Buffer impact permitting
- 401/404 Permitting through USACE and NCDWR for wetland impact
- Orange County for erosion control and public utility permitting
- Duke Energy for coordination re: overhead utility relocation & transformer pad locations
- NCDOT for driveway access and off-site roadway improvements
- Assessed of multiple options for site orientation and grading to minimize costs and maximize connectivity within and through the development
- Construction administration and closeout services
