Glen Lennox

This iconic 70-acre mixed-use project was designed to maximize preservation of existing rare and specimen trees, as well as maximize retention of the existing Glen Lennox culture.

The final concept is the result of exhaustive coordination with neighbors and Town over several years through Neighborhood Conservation District and Development Agreement processes. This Glen Lennox project represents the first Development Agreement approved in Chapel Hill for a private entity.


Masterplanning and Infrastructure Services:

  • Coordinated initial concept plan submittal.
  • Assisted during Neighborhood Conservation District and Development Agreement processes.
  • Reviewed draft versions of Development Agreement, prepared exhibits, and provided input throughout DA process.
  • Assisted in development of Development Agreement Compliance Permit Application.
  • Prepared masterplans and cost estimates for infrastructure components.
  • Worked with internationally recognized bicycle facility experts from Copenhagenize to help achieve the goal of Glen Lennox becoming the most bike-friendly community in NC.
  • Worked with talented team of retail experts and designers to master plan the retail/village center between Berkeley and NC 54.
  • Worked with traffic consultant to create new signalized super-street intersection at Glen Lennox Drive & US 15-501.
  • Prepare designs for several roadway and utility extensions and realignments.
  • Designed innovative stormwater management strategies.
  • Prepared design for off-site roadway and greenway improvements.
  • Performed boundary, topographical, tree, and ALTA surveys, subdivisions, roadway abandonments and dedications.
  • Construction began on Block 7 in Fall of 2018.  Estimated completion of infrastructure is 2025.
